From heatherondo@webtv.net Tue Dec 12 12:42:51 2000 Date: 6 Dec 2000 10:47:56 -0700 From: Heatherondo Newsgroups: rec.food.recipes Subject: Potatoes Au Gratin Followup-To: rec.food.cooking, rec.food.recipes Gratin of Potatoes 1 1/2 Tbsp butter 2 Tbsp flour one cup HOT milk salt and pepper 2 cups Gruyere cheese(substitute jack, cheddar or Swiss if you like) 2-3 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/2 cup Parmesan (optional) Grind butter and flour into a paste. In sauce pan add butter and flour paste, heat and slowly whisk in the hot milk whisking non stop, add salt and pepper and when sauce has thickened add half of the Gruyere and Parmesan Mix in sliced potatoes Place potatoes in a casserole dish.
