From chef_rwmiller@sbcglobal.net Thu Oct 12 15:28:49 2006 Date: Wed, 11 Oct 2006 22:58:34 +0000 (UTC) From: chefrwmiller Newsgroups: rec.food.recipes Subject: Carne Asada Tacos Followup-To: rec.food.cooking, rec.food.recipes Carne Asada Tacos 1 pound flank steak 1/2 can dark beer 5 limes 1 bunch cilantro 1 onion 1 avocado 1/4 cup sour cream 4 garlic cloves 5 tomatillos 1 large fresh jalapeņo pepper, or cut caned 8 tortillas Dice cilantro, onion, and garlic Marinate the steak in 3 limes, some cilantro, onions, beer, salt and pepper. Grill on BBQ until well done. Cut into strips. Salsa: Boil tomatillos and jalapeno in 1 cup of water for 10 minutes. Place in a blender with garlic and puree. Add salt and lime, to taste.[and more jalapeņo if you want hot], put in fridge. Guacamole: Smash avocado and mix with sour cream, handful of cilantro, onions, diced tomatoes, salt and lime to taste. Mix remaining amount of cilantro and onions place in bowl and set aside for tacos. In a dry skillet, heat tortillas for approx 30 seconds each side.
