I came up with this recipe for a birthday party the other day and got lots of compliments. It is fairly easy to make and can sit out in hot weather without problems. * Exported from MasterCook * Bean Dip Recipe By : Michele Wilson Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time :0:20 Categories : Appetizers Beans Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dried oregano 3 teaspoons chili powder 1 teaspoon cumin 1/2 teaspoon tabasco sauce 1 medium onion -- diced 2 cloves garlic -- diced 3 medium tomatoes -- diced and seeded 8 ounces green chiles -- diced 32 ounces refried beans 8 ounces tomato sauce 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 2 tablespoons oil Cook onion and garlic in oil until soft. Add tomatoes and chilies. Cook on medium 5 minutes. Add salt, oregano, chili powder, cumin, tabasco sauce, tomato sauce and refried beans. Heat through. Top with cheddar cheese.
