From alex72at@yahoo.com Thu Apr 21 09:20:45 2005 Date: 20 Apr 2005 12:22:35 -0700 From: john Newsgroups: uk.food+drink.indian Subject: Re: Authentic Indian food [was Re: How do I make a Madras] Here is a authentic Indian recipe# Khus-Khus Tandoori Kabbabs (POPPY SEED MEAT BALLS) 500g mince meat (mutton) 2tbsp khus-khus (poppy seed) 1 tbsp channa flour (gram) 1 tbsp chopped dhunia leaves 1 egg 3 tbsp oil 1/2tsp garlic 1 tsp green chillies (pounded) 1/2 tsp black groung pepper 1/2 tsp crushed jeera (cummin) 1 tbsp salt 1/2 tsp red chilli Poünd a teaspoon of khus-khus,jeera,peppercorns,garlic and green chilles in a mortar. Add this to washed and well drained mince.Put through a mincer or pound it well. Braise channa flour in oil till it is pink in colour. Add to mince. Lastly add chopped dhunia and egg to mince and mix well. Form into small ping pong sized balls and roll each lightly in left over khus-khus. Put meat balls in greased baking tin. Swirl balls around till they are coverd in oil.Brown in moderated heated oven, turning over once and twice during the roasting period. When nicely browned remove from oven. Serve hot with fresh lemon and chutney Güten appetit.
